Procurement Specialist

 

Location – Bordon, Hampshire

Hours - 08:30 17:00 Monday to Thursday (30 minute lunch break) and 08:00 -13:30 on Fridays (no lunch break)

Job Type – Full time / Permanent

Pay – Up to £32k per annum + lots of benefits

 

This client is a well established manufacturing business working with aerospace coatings and composite materials.

The Procurement Specialis will ensure a steady supply of raw materials and smooth product distribution to meet the ongoing demands of both internal and external customers, minimising disruptions.

You will be taking a supportive role to the Senior Buyer, so as well as undertaking administrative tasks such as raising PO Nos., you must enjoy building relationships with suppliers and you'll be a confident communicator too. The ideal candidate will also have Microsoft D365 ERP experience but knowledge of any other ERP system is acceptable too.

 

Roles / Responsibilities –

  • Facilitating the supply of raw material from suppliers using MRP
  • Aiding development procurement plans with suppliers in collaboration with the Supply Chain Manager and Sales team
  • Entering orders on ERP system
  • Supporting the Supply Chain Manager in reviewing and updating QMS documentation
  • Monitoring the service rate of suppliers and propose actions in case of unsatisfactory results
  • Daily follow-up of orders and taking charge of supplier reminders if necessary
  • Report with the Supply Chain Manager and other relevant departments on problems encountered (price, quality, OTD)

  • Demonstrable procurement management experience
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Exceptional time management skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with external clients and internal colleagues
  • Ability to keep up to date with supply market shifts
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to work on a tactical and strategic level
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
