Facade DesignerThe Opportunity
We are seeking a talented and technically driven Facade Designer to join a leading facade engineering and design consultancy working on prestigious architectural projects across the UK and internationally.
This role offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced facade engineers and design professionals, developing innovative building envelope solutions from concept through to construction. You will play a key role in the production of high-quality facade details, technical drawings, BIM deliverables, and design documentation for a diverse portfolio of projects.

Key Responsibilities
Develop facade details and technical solutions from schematic design through to contract documentation stages.
Produce accurate and coordinated technical drawings in line with project and company standards.
Create and maintain facade detail libraries, dynamic blocks, and BIM content.
Support the ongoing development of BIM workflows and parametric design tools within the facade team.
Coordinate and integrate information from architects, consultants, contractors, and specialist suppliers.
Manage drawing revisions, document control processes, and drawing issue schedules.
Work collaboratively with facade engineers and project teams to deliver design solutions.
Attend project meetings, technical workshops, and site visits when required.
Assist with site inspections and technical reviews where appropriate.
Contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives and the continuous improvement of design standards and best practices.
Maintain awareness of emerging facade technologies, systems, and industry trends.
Requirements
Qualification in CAD, BIM, Architectural Technology, Building Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.
Minimum 2 years' experience in facade design and detailing within a consultancy, engineering, or construction environment.
Good understanding of curtain walling, structural glazing, rainscreen cladding systems, and built-up wall constructions.
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (2D essential, 3D desirable).
Experience using Revit and Rhino would be advantageous.
Experience working with document control and document management systems.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage workloads effectively and work to project deadlines.
A collaborative and proactive approach to problem-solving.
Desirable Skills & Experience
Knowledge of UK and international codes, standards, and best practice relating to facade design.
Experience delivering projects from concept design through to completion.
Interest in architectural design and building technology.
Ambition to develop professionally and take on increasing levels of responsibility.
Flexibility to travel occasionally in support of project requirements.
