Head Veterinary Nurse – Hertfordshire

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 DOE + Excellent Benefits

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head Veterinary Nurse to join a long-established independent small animal hospital in Hertfordshire. With a history spanning over 140 years and recognised hospital status, this practice is committed to delivering exceptional patient care whilst maintaining a supportive and collaborative team culture.

Working alongside an experienced team of veterinary surgeons, RVNs and support staff, you'll play a key leadership role within the nursing team, overseeing day-to-day clinical operations, supporting staff development, and helping to maintain the high standards of care the practice is known for.

What We're Looking For

• RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse
• Previous leadership or senior nursing experience
• Strong clinical nursing skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and team management abilities
• Passionate about delivering outstanding patient and client care

The Rota

Designed to support a healthy work-life balance:

• 40-hour week
• Shifts between 8:30am – 5:00pm or 11:00am – 7:30pm
• Only 1 in 4 Saturday mornings (8:30am – 1:00pm)
• No out-of-hours requirements
• Supportive and well-established clinical team
