Locum Veterinary Surgeon (Sole Charge)
Independent Small Animal Practice | Dorset | Up to £500 Day Rate | No OOH

An established independent small animal veterinary practice in Dorset is seeking an experienced Locum Veterinary Surgeon to provide sole charge cover across a selection of upcoming shifts.

This opportunity is ideal for a confident Small Animal Vet seeking a well-paid, low-pressure locum role within a supportive, family-owned veterinary group. Offering an excellent work-life balance with no out-of-hours (OOH) or on-call requirements, this is a fantastic opportunity to work within a friendly and well-equipped practice environment.

The successful candidate will deliver high-quality consultations and clinical care in a sole charge capacity, supported by an experienced and welcoming team.

The Role

Position: Locum Veterinary Surgeon (Sole Charge)
Location: Dorset
Practice Type: Independent Small Animal Practice
Contract Type: Locum / Temporary
Hours: 9:00am – 7:00pm (including a 1-hour unpaid lunch break)
OOH / On-Call: None
Payment Options: All payment methods accepted

Available Shift Dates

• Friday 12th June
• Friday 19th June
• Thursday 25th June
• Friday 26th June
• Thursday 23rd July
• Thursday 30th July

Rates of Pay

• £400 – £500 per full day worked
• £300 for a half Saturday shift
• £40 per hour for weekday shifts under 9 hours

While accommodation is not provided, an allowance of up to £60 per night worked may be considered. Please note, rates may be adjusted where accommodation support is agreed.

Candidate Requirements

This position would suit an experienced Locum Veterinary Surgeon or Small Animal Vet who is confident working independently in a sole charge setting. You will be comfortable managing consultations and delivering high-quality clinical care autonomously.
