The Role
This role is ideal for a nurse who is ready to develop their leadership skills while remaining hands-on clinically. You will work closely with the veterinary team to maintain high standards of patient care, oversee the day-to-day running of the nursing team, and help support student nurses and junior colleagues.
Leadership training is available, making this an excellent opportunity for a confident RVN looking to transition into a senior role with structured support and guidance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support the nursing team to deliver exceptional patient care
Assist veterinary surgeons during consultations, diagnostics and surgery
Utilise Schedule 3 skills where appropriate
Oversee daily clinical operations and workflow
Ensure equipment and instruments are maintained and serviced
Conduct controlled drug audits in line with regulations
Support reception colleagues to maintain excellent client care
Mentor student nurses as a Clinical Supervisor
Drive continuous improvements in nursing standards and team performance
Working Pattern
Full-time, 40 hours per week
Monday to Friday
1 in 4 Saturdays
1 in 10 weekends at a nearby hospital
1 bank holiday per year
No on-call duties
The Practice
You’ll be joining a thriving and well-supported practice with a team of experienced veterinary surgeons, RVNs, student nurses and dedicated reception staff.
The clinic is equipped to perform a wide range of diagnostic and surgical procedures, including:
Imaging suite
In-house laboratory
Surgical facilities
Modern consultation rooms

Salary & Benefits
£35,000 to £39,000 per annum depending on experience
6.6 weeks annual leave including bank holidays

Previous experience in a busy small animal practice
