Veterinary Surgeon – Somerset
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Surgeon to join a progressive, friendly, and well-established practice in Somerset! With a large and welcoming team of 24 vets, this thriving practice offers an inspiring clinical environment where collaboration, learning, and high quality patient care are at the heart of everything they do.
The team includes Certificate holders in Medicine, Surgery, Cardiology, and Feline Medicine, alongside a visiting ophthalmology service. Many colleagues are also actively studying towards further qualifications, creating a culture of continuous development and shared expertise. With a wide range of clinical interests across the team there are excellent opportunities to explore and develop personal areas of interest.
The practice is exceptionally well equipped, featuring modern theatres with laparoscopic equipment, digital X-ray, dental X-ray, and ultrasound imaging. Every dental patient benefits from full dental staging, and additional facilities include laser therapy, orthopaedic surgery equipment, isolation wards, well-equipped consulting rooms, a fully equipped on-site laboratory, and even a CT scanner. This allows the team to manage a diverse and rewarding caseload while delivering a high standard of care.
The role offers a varied mix of theatre, consulting, and hospital work, providing excellent clinical exposure and the opportunity to continually develop skills. The successful candidate will be confident with routine consultations and surgeries, though support is always available when needed. You will be RCVS registered, have completed VetGDP, and enjoy working collaboratively within a supportive, team focused environment.
Beyond clinical work, the practice prides itself on its sociable culture and strong sense of community among the team. Sustainability is also an important focus, and the practice actively supports eco initiatives, welcoming colleagues who are passionate about environmental projects and making veterinary practice more sustainable.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a thriving practice where clinical excellence, teamwork, and innovation are encouraged, and where veterinary surgeons are supported to grow, develop new interests, and enjoy a genuinely rewarding career!
