Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Home
Location: Derby
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000
4-Bed, Good-Rated Home

We are currently seeking a Deputy Manager for a well-regarded, Good-rated children’s home in Derby. The home provides care and support for young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) within a four-bedded setting.

Our client is an established and growing independent children’s service provider with a strong reputation across the Midlands. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced senior practitioner ready to step into a leadership role within a supportive and forward-thinking organisation.

The Role

As Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Registered Manager to:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the home
  • Manage the home in the absence of the Manager
  • Ensure a consistently high standard of care for young people
  • Conduct care reviews, team meetings, and planning sessions
  • Lead on staff inductions and provide supervision, mentoring, and performance support
  • Maintain and develop quality standards in line with regulatory requirements

You will take shared responsibility for the overall performance of the home, contributing to the development of both the team and the young people in your care.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Recent experience in a Senior, Team Leader, or Deputy Manager role within children’s residential care
  • Completed NVQ/QCF Level 3 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care, Children and Young People’s Services
  • A strong track record of delivering high-quality care
  • Effective leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • A genuine passion for achieving positive outcomes for young people
