Salary: £45,000 – £65,000 DOE

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join a friendly, well-established RCVS-accredited veterinary practice in Burnley, East Lancashire. Following the relocation of valued veterinary colleagues overseas, the practice is looking to welcome a compassionate and motivated vet to its supportive team.

The Opportunity

This is primarily a consulting-only veterinary position, based mainly at the practice’s Burnley branch, with the option to include routine surgical procedures for candidates who wish to maintain surgical exposure.

The successful candidate will enjoy meaningful client interaction, case continuity, and clinical decision-making in a collaborative environment where high-quality patient care comes first.

Role Highlights:

• Permanent, full-time position (part-time and flexible working arrangements considered)

• No out-of-hours work (OOH) – supported by a dedicated in-house OOH service
• Salary of £45,000 – £65,000, dependent on experience

• Digital x-ray

• Separate canine and feline wards

The Burnley branch includes:

• In-house laboratory
• Three consulting rooms
• Surgical theatre
• Patient kennel ward

The Team

The successful candidate will become part of a welcoming team of approximately 65 colleagues working collaboratively across branches. The culture is friendly, supportive, and highly team-oriented, with experienced clinicians, certificate holders, and highly skilled RVNs working together to provide exceptional care.

The wider clinical team includes expertise in:

• Medicine
• Dentistry
• Emergency & Critical Care (ECC)

Candidate Requirements

The practice is ideally seeking a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon who:

• Has completed VetGDP
• Is confident with routine consultations
• Demonstrates excellent client care and communication skills

• Is enthusiastic about learning, CPD, and professional development
