Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience (aligned with NHS Agenda for Change Band 5/6 or equivalent)
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Practice Nurse to join a friendly and supportive GP practice in Scarborough. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to our practice population, working collaboratively within the multidisciplinary primary care team.
This role is ideal for an experienced Practice Nurse or a Registered Nurse looking to develop their career within primary care.
Deliver chronic disease management clinics (e.g. asthma, COPD, diabetes, hypertension)
Provide cervical cytology (smear tests)
Administer childhood and adult immunisations and vaccinations
Conduct health promotion and lifestyle advice (e.g. smoking cessation, weight management)
Perform wound care, dressings, and suture removal
Carry out health assessments and NHS health checks
Support infection prevention and control procedures
Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records using EMIS/SystmOne (or equivalent)
Work in accordance with NMC Code of Professional Conduct and practice policies
Participate in clinical audits, QOF, and service improvement initiatives
Support and mentor healthcare assistants or student nurses where appropriate
Registered Nurse (Adult) with valid NMC registration
Experience working in a GP practice or primary care setting (or strong interest with transferable skills)
Competence in immunisations and chronic disease management
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Strong organisational and time-management skills
Qualification in Practice Nursing or Primary Care Nursing
Cervical cytology qualification
Non-medical prescribing qualification
Experience with QOF and long-term condition reviews
Knowledge of local community and NHS services
