Responsible Individual
Rate: £350 – £450 per day
1 day per week
Oldham, Greater Manchester

Are you a senior leader in children's residential care with a passion for quality and compliance? We are seeking a Responsible Individual on a part-time basis (1 day per week) to provide strategic oversight and regulatory leadership for a children's home in Oldham.

The Role:

As the Responsible Individual, you will play a vital role in ensuring the home operates in full compliance with the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Ofsted expectations. You will support the Registered Manager, offer strategic direction, and ensure high standards of safeguarding, care, and leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

• Fulfil the Responsible Individual role as defined in the Children’s Homes Regulations.
• Provide regulatory oversight and ensure compliance with Ofsted standards.
• Support and supervise the Registered Manager and care team.
• Attend Ofsted inspections as required and ensure readiness at all times.
• Monitor safeguarding, staffing, and quality assurance systems.
• Act as a critical friend, offering challenge and support to promote continuous improvement.

 About You:

• Proven experience as a Responsible Individual or senior leader in a children's residential setting.
• In-depth knowledge of Ofsted regulations and children’s social care legislation.
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
• Strong communication skills and ability to build positive working relationships.
• Enhanced DBS and two satisfactory references required.
