Benefits:

  • Annual Salary: £38,150.00
  • Working Pattern: Full-time, based on a rota of one day on (24 hours including sleepover) followed by two days off (48 hours)
  • Average Weekly Hours: 56.4 hours (inclusive of sleepover shifts)

    Key Responsibilities:

    - Assist the Home Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the children's home.
    - Provide leadership and support to the care team, ensuring high standards of care are maintained.
    - Develop and implement care plans tailored to the individual needs of each child.
    - Monitor and evaluate the progress and well-being of children, making adjustments to care plans as necessary.
    - Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
    - Support staff development through training, mentoring, and performance reviews.
    - Handle emergencies and incidents, ensuring the safety and welfare of children and staff.
    - Foster positive relationships with children, their families, and external agencies.

    Skills and Qualifications:
    - Proven experience in a similar role within a children’s home or related setting.
    - Strong leadership and team management skills.
    - Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
    - Ability to develop and implement effective care plans.
    - Knowledge of relevant legislation and safeguarding procedures.
    - Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle challenging situations calmly.
    - Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to the welfare of children.

    Requirements:
    - Relevant qualification in childcare, social work, or a related field.
    - Enhanced DBS check.
    - Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings and weekends.
