Job Description

Veterinary Surgeon – Hatfield

  • Join a friendly, independent, and vet owned practice that’s been delivering outstanding care since 1985, with a supportive, close-knit team of vets and RVNs
  • Work in a modern ISFM Gold Standard Cat Friendly Clinic, fully equipped with digital and dental X-ray, endoscopy, ultrasound, laser, AI based tools, and a full in-house lab
  • Enjoy a calm, collaborative environment where your voice is valued, with opportunities to grow your clinical skills and build lasting client relationships
  • Earn up to £60,000 DOE plus a generous benefits package while living and working in beautiful Hertfordshire, with easy access to London and the countryside

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and motivated Veterinary Surgeon to join a fantastic independent practice in beautiful Hertfordshire! This well-established, locally owned small animal clinic has been serving the community since 1985, now boasting a flagship branch in St Albans and a proud reputation for delivering exceptional, compassionate care. As an ISFM Gold Standard Cat Friendly Clinic, the practice goes above and beyond in offering a calm and comforting environment for all patients—with separate dog and cat receptions and modern, dedicated wards.

The successful candidate will be joining a warm, collaborative team of three lovely vets, experienced RVNs, and supportive reception staff who work closely together to ensure the highest clinical standards. The practice is fully equipped with cutting edge technology including digital X-ray, dental X-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy, laser, a full in-house laboratory, and even AI-based diagnostic tools—making it an ideal setting for vets who want to explore their full potential and work with the best tools in the business.

They’re looking for a kind, confident vet who thrives in a friendly team, enjoys forming strong client relationships, and is comfortable with routine surgery and medicine. You’ll be someone who values a calm and positive work culture, where mutual support and work-life balance are truly prioritised. Whether you’re an experienced vet or an ambitious early career vet looking to grow in a nurturing environment, this role offers real opportunity to thrive.

Set in the picturesque county of Hertfordshire—with its leafy parks, historic towns, and fast links to London—this is the perfect spot for enjoying a great quality of life outside of work while being part of a close-knit, forward-thinking team that’s redefining independent veterinary care.
