Job Title: Veterinary Nurse

Location: Sligo, Ireland

• Full-time role
• Up to €17/h
• Experience beneficial - but not essential!
• Some sole charge
• Experienced and supportive team - 3 vets and 3 nurses
• 50/50 caseload
• VDS, VCI and CPD paid

This friendly practice is seeking a dedicated and compassionate RVN to join their mixed practice in Sligo, Ireland. The position offers a unique opportunity to work with both large and small animals, providing comprehensive veterinary care and support in a dynamic and supportive environment. The practice is ideally seeking someone with experience, however encourage all to apply as training is provided.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist veterinarians in all aspects of animal care, including medical treatments, surgeries, and emergency procedures.
• Provide high-quality nursing care.
• Reception and administration duties.
• Monitor and record the condition of animals under treatment and report any changes to the veterinarian.
• Prepare and maintain surgical areas, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and ready for use.
• Maintain clean and organized work environments, including examination rooms, kennels, and surgical areas.
• Provide compassionate and professional customer service to clients, addressing any concerns and providing information as needed.

Qualifications and Skills:

• A degree in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent qualification.
• Registered with the Veterinary Council of Ireland (VCI).
• Experience in small animal practice
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team.
• Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and efficiently.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and on-call rotations.
