Head Veterinary Nurse – Hertfordshire
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and driven Head Veterinary Nurse to join a well-established, cat friendly practice nestled in the heart of Hertfordshire. This welcoming and progressive clinic is proud to offer an environment where veterinary nurses can truly thrive—both as individuals and as leaders. With a strong focus on collaboration, support, and clinical excellence, the practice is the perfect place for an experienced RVN ready to take the next step in their career.
You’ll be working alongside a fantastic team of veterinary professionals who are as dedicated to their patients as they are to supporting one another. As Head Veterinary Nurse, you will play a pivotal role in clinical leadership, inspiring and guiding the nursing team while ensuring the delivery of gold-standard care. From managing nurse-led appointments and Schedule 3 surgeries to overseeing patient care and mentoring your colleagues, your role will be both diverse and rewarding.
This practice offers exceptional opportunities for professional growth. With plenty of scope for nurse clinics, you’ll be supported through internal CPD and training to build your consulting confidence. There's even a bespoke nutritional ambassador programme to help you broaden your clinical expertise. If you have a passion for a particular area of veterinary nursing, you’ll love being part of the practice’s clinical communities—spaces where like-minded professionals collaborate and innovate together.
To succeed in this role, you’ll be a RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse with a proven ability to deliver exceptional patient and client care. Your leadership skills and experience in developing a progressive clinical culture will make a real impact as you support your team, implement best practices, and help shape the future of the practice.
Set in the beautiful surroundings of Hertfordshire—with its charming towns, countryside walks, and easy access to London—this role combines professional fulfilment with a great quality of life. If you’re ready to lead, inspire, and grow in a supportive and ambitious environment, this could be the perfect next step in your nursing career.
