Veterinary Surgeon – Derbyshire

• RCVS accredited small animal hospital situated in the Amber Valley district of Derbyshire

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join an award-winning, RCVS-accredited small animal hospital located in the heart of Derbyshire. This position offers the chance to work as part of a large, dedicated, and driven team of ten veterinary surgeon’s, a fantastic head nurse, twelve nurses, and five receptionists. The practice is renowned for its high standards and commitment to exceptional client and patient care.

The veterinary team includes several certificate holders, with many others currently in the process of obtaining their certificates in various specialities, such as dermatology, surgery, internal medicine, emergency and critical care, and ophthalmology. The practice is fully equipped with six consult rooms, separate dog and cat wards, three sterile theatres, specialised suites for diagnostics, dental facilities, digital x-ray, two staff rooms, and much more, ensuring that the team has all the resources they need to provide excellent care.

This full-time role involves a 40-hour workweek, with 1 in 6 weekends on duty. However, part-time applications are also welcome, and the practice is open to offering flexible working arrangements where possible to suit individual needs.

The hospital is situated in the Amber Valley district of Derbyshire, a region rich in history, offering a bustling town atmosphere with a variety of national high street shops, local businesses, and a traditional indoor market. The area is home to several parks, historical sites, and easy access to the Peak District, along with nearby cities like Derby, Nottingham, and Sheffield.
