Purosearch are looking for an enthusiastic veterinary surgeon to become part of newly established yet very busy, truly independent, first opinion small animal veterinary practice on a full-time basis. Would Also consider new graduates.
The practice is a family run, independent vets situated not far from Lancashire. The Grade II listed building has been renovated into a purpose-built clinic with modern facilities. Since opening, the practice has gone from strength to strength and now requires an additional vet to grow the practice and help it flourish. They are currently a team of 1 vet, 3 RVN's, 2 student RVN's and 2 receptionists.
The practice has all the modern diagnostic equipment expected of a first opinion practice including ultrasound, digital X-ray, dental machine, flexible endoscope, and Class IV laser therapy machine. Their in-house lab uses IDEXX biochemistry, haematology, and snap test machines.
The practice consists of 2 consult rooms, 2 theatres, a prep room, kennel room, a large waiting room, nurses’ station, and reception.
They have recently opened a hospital ward for their in-patients in the adjacent building. This has a separated isolation ward, main kennel area with separate dog and cat kennels, a treatment room (ideal for rehabilitation such as laser therapy) and over-night accommodation. The nursing team will be responsible for the in-patient care, over seen by their head vet, therefore you will not be required to work in the hospital although it is encouraged that you do!
The ideal candidate would:
• Have 1-2 years experience in general practice
• Be confident with sole charge
• Have the ability to perform all routine surgeries confidently
• Have client relationship as one of the main priorities
• Be enthusiastic, have ideas on how to grow the practice, be willing to work with the nurses to develop the practice
• Work well within a small and close team
The package:
• 4 day working week (Monday to Friday 09:00 to 18:30)
• Share of out of hours rota - weekend only - emergencies only i.e. no consults, only need to be at practice when called and if deemed necessary.

Experience:
