Are you a seasoned tax professional looking to join a dynamic team that sets and achieves high standards in everything it does?  Our client a 12 p partner Top 50 Firm of chartered accountants specialist based in Holborn  are seeking a motivated and experienced Tax Manager to join our firm. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of clients, with a focus on personal, partnership, and trust tax compliance. Key Responsibilities:

  • Portfolio Management:

    • Prepare personal, partnership, and trust Tax Returns with precision and adherence to deadlines.
    • Address client queries, with desirable knowledge of the tax regime for offshore trusts and UK non-domiciled individuals.
    • Proactively identify opportunities to save tax for clients and mitigate potential pitfalls to ensure smooth financial operations.
  • Client Relations:

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients.
    • Expand the client base by taking on new clients and fostering robust relationships.
  • Work Planning and Organization:

    • Plan work throughout the year to minimize overtime during peak periods (December/January).
    • Effectively manage Work in Progress (WIP) and billing for your portfolio.
  • Team Collaboration:

    • Work with a diverse range of sports, entertainment, and media clients.
    • Take responsibility for mentoring and guiding junior team members, ensuring exposure to varied tasks and fostering professional development.
  • Advisory and Additional Responsibilities:

    • Provide ad hoc advice to partners and team members.
    • Conduct peer reviews and contribute to training sessions.
    • Handle additional tasks including NRCGT Returns, ATED Returns, IHT Returns, P11Ds, and ERS Returns.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

  • Qualifications:

    • CTA qualification preferred, but QBE (Qualified by Experience) will also be considered.
  • Experience:

    • Proven experience managing a portfolio of personal tax compliance.
    • Demonstrated ability to train and manage junior team members.
    • Exposure to clients from sports, media, and entertainment industries.
    • Track record of adding value to client portfolios.
  • Skills:

    • Strong and broad tax technical knowledge.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills to maintain positive client and staff relations.
    • Attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
    • Proactive and positive approach in client and colleague interactions.
    • Confidence to act independently when needed.
    • Full working knowledge of CCH is advantageous.
