The Firm: We are partnering with a distinguished UK chartered accountancy firm, recognized among the top 25 in the nation. Established in 1933, our client practice is home to 26 partners and approximately 280 dedicated professionals, offering a comprehensive range of services encompassing audit, corporate taxation, private client services, VAT, and forensic accounting. We also boast specialized sector groups providing in-depth industry expertise.

The Department: Our thriving Private Client department comprises 30 dedicated specialists led by a team of 6 Partners, a Consultant, and 2 Directors.

The Role: We are currently seeking a talented Manager to join our expanding Private Client Tax team.

The successful candidate will primarily support our Head of Tax, a Partner, in managing an extensive portfolio of UHNW clients. They will become an integral part of our enthusiastic, high-achieving, and motivated team.

Duties & Responsibilities: As a Manager, your key responsibilities will encompass overseeing the day-to-day operations of a client portfolio, including:

  • Providing technical guidance and seeking input from Directors and Partners when necessary
  • Managing and organizing client billing processes
  • Serving as the secondary point of contact for key clients
  • Participating in business development activities, including client pitches and general BD efforts
  • Supervising junior staff, offering feedback, and addressing queries as needed
  • Identifying opportunities for business development and cross-selling
  • Coordinating the compliance process for clients
  • Attending manager meetings and contributing ideas for departmental improvements
  • Fulfilling other ad hoc duties in alignment with the role's requirements

The Candidate: The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications and attributes:

  • A minimum of 6 years' experience in personal tax within a practice setting
  • Proactive approach to tasks and challenges
  • Strong team collaboration skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritize tasks
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities
  • Experience in handling non-domiciled individuals (non-doms) and high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • A combination of corporate and personal tax experience
  • Prior experience in reviewing tax returns and managing client portfolios
  • Commercial awareness in billing and marketing matters
  • CTA qualification preferred, while familiarity with Digita software is advantageous (training will be provided if necessary)
