Job Description

Our client is an 8 partner practice, in Farringdon with clients range from multimillion-pound groups to smaller family businesses.
This client facing role is for a qualified Manager to join the growing team and take joint responsibility for a portfolio of £350k, with direct supervision of the bookkeeping team, together with statutory and management account preparation, client engagement and onboarding, and occasional M&A project management.

Key Aspects of the role
• Quality Assurance – Reviewing the work of the bookkeepers & junior staff in the team to ensure accuracy of output, coaching the team to improve the quality of workpapers.
• Willingness to share knowledge with the team and clients
• Manage and coordinate accounting teams, delivery of work on time to high standard, flagging issues.
• Portfolio management - Management of the accounting process, Preparation of Account, as well as KPI's and Management Accounts
• Support with HMRC related queries and issues including preparing CT100s and Personal tax on occasion.
• General client management - including attending meetings; responding to ad hoc queries; preparing update notes; regular programme reports.
• Supporting Development – of yourself, the team and the business by sharing knowledge in ways that is easy to share, looking for wars to support our clients better & and you can develop to add more value to clients.
• The opportunity to get involved in Project work – We focus on clients growing through Mergers and Acquisitions and so there will be the opportunity to work on M&A projects.
You are
• Qualified accountant (ACCA /ACA) with current practice exposure of a portfolio of at least £200k
• Strong business acumen and the ability to apply this to add value
• Strong IT skills, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
• Experience in leading teams and reviewing the work of others
• A self-starter who is equally able to work within a team as well as independently and demonstrates ownership over their development.
• An understanding of Risk, Risk management and its effects on business decisions.
