Position: Personal Tax Senior

Responsibilities:

  1. Tax Compliance and Advisory: Prepare and review personal tax returns for a portfolio of clients, ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations. Offer tax planning advice to clients, optimizing their tax positions while considering individual circumstances.
  2. Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted point of contact for all tax-related matters. Respond promptly to client inquiries and provide clear and concise explanations of complex tax concepts.
  3. Tax Research and Analysis: Stay up-to-date with changes in tax legislation, rules, and regulations. Conduct research to identify tax-saving opportunities and potential risks that may impact clients.
  4. Review and Supervision: Review and supervise the work of junior team members, providing guidance and constructive feedback to enhance their professional development.
  5. Tax Reporting: Assist in the preparation and review of tax reports and computations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established standards.
  6. Tax Compliance Review: Conduct periodic reviews to ensure compliance with internal procedures and external tax regulations.
  7. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy in tax-related workflows.
  8. Client Engagement: Participate in client meetings and assist in presenting tax advice and recommendations to clients effectively.
  9. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other team members, such as tax managers and partners, to deliver high-quality tax services to clients.
  10. Professional Development: Engage in continuous learning and stay abreast of industry trends to enhance personal and professional growth.

Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  2. A professional qualification in tax (e.g., CTA) is preferred.
  3. Proven experience in personal tax compliance and advisory within a practice firm or accounting environment.
  4. Thorough knowledge of UK tax legislation, regulations, and best practices.
  5. Proficient in using tax software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  7. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of building rapport with clients and colleagues.
  8. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
  9. Proactive and self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  10. A passion for providing exceptional client service and dedication to delivering high-quality results.
