Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen within a UK leading charity accounts outsourcing firm for a Client Portfolio Manager. With around 45 staff, this role offers the potential for future development as a Director, contributing to the further expansion of the business.

Role Overview:

This innovative firm specializes in working with the social enterprise and not-for-profit sector, providing outsourced finance solutions, including Finance Directors services, payroll, finance support, and management/statutory accounting services. As a Client Portfolio Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing a portfolio of charity and not-for-profit clients, providing an outsourced accounting service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the preparation of management accounts for a portfolio of clients, ensuring a complete understanding of the underlying numbers and addressing areas of concern.

  • Attend Charity Board Meetings and In-House Management Meetings.

  • Manage your own portfolio, supervising Accounts Seniors and Trainees, in-house bookkeepers, and overseeing the preparation of draft client VAT returns and payroll for review.

  • Prepare draft statutory accounts or supervise the process.

  • Liaise with auditors and serve as the first point of contact for dealing with audit queries on a timely basis.

  • Occasionally travel to client sites, mainly in Central London.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 2-4 years post-qualified ACA/ACCA to current Supervisor level.

  • Relevant outsourcing accounts experience in an accountancy practice.

  • Keen interest in working with not-for-profits/social enterprises; previous experience is highly desirable.
