You know how to deliver a clean month-end.

But can you lead the people behind it and improve the processes that make it happen?

This is a genuine line-management role within a large, fast-paced, multi-site business. You’ll lead a team of four qualified and part-qualified accountants, taking responsibility for their performance, development and the quality of their output.

The environment moves quickly. Priorities compete, deadlines don’t move and the current way of working won’t always be the best one. You’ll need to keep month-end on track while finding smarter, stronger ways to deliver it.

What will you be doing?

• Line-managing, coaching and developing a team of four

• Setting expectations and holding people accountable for delivery

• Overseeing management accounts and balance-sheet reconciliations

• Ensuring reporting is accurate, controlled and delivered on time

• Identifying and implementing process improvements

• Explaining variances and highlighting risks and opportunities

• Supporting forecasts and commercial decisions

• Building strong relationships across the business

What are we looking for?

Ideally, you’ll be ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, with strong management-accounting experience.

More importantly, you’ll be an experienced line manager who knows how to improve performance, not simply monitor it. You’ll be comfortable managing competing deadlines, challenging existing processes and maintaining high standards in a fast-paced environment.

Multi-site experience and knowledge of SunSystems would be useful but aren’t essential.
