Principal Fire Safety Engineer
Location: Swords, Dublin

Salary is €75k-€85k DOE + benefits package

Optimize Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a leading engineering consultancy for a Principal Fire Safety Engineer to join their Infrastructure team in Dublin.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects across Transport, Leisure, Education, Commercial, Healthcare, Industrial, Storage and Residential sectors, for both public and private clients.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) Level 8 in Fire Safety Engineering, or equivalent.
• An MSc in Fire Safety Engineering is preferred.
• Qualifications and experience suitable for progression towards Chartered Engineer status with Engineers Ireland are advantageous.
• Full driving licence and access to own transport.

About You

• Relevant post-graduate experience within a consultancy or similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of fire safety design, Irish legislation and construction technology.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong presentation and client-facing skills.
• Professional, enthusiastic and flexible approach.
• Willingness to take responsibility and support the development of junior team members.

The Role

• Develop fire safety strategies from inception through to completion across a range of project types.
• Prepare technical reports, design drawings and review drawings produced by others.
• Carry out fire risk assessments and surveys of existing buildings.
• Undertake site inspections as required under BC(A)R 2014.
• Review contractor and design team proposals and material submittals.
