Permanent, Full-Time: Mon–Thurs 08:00–16:30 and Fri 08:00–15:30

Optimize Recruitment is working on behalf of a leading international manufacturing organisation to recruit an experienced Maintenance Fitter for their facility in Athy, Co. Kildare.

You will be responsible for planned and reactive mechanical maintenance across high-speed production, processing, handling and packaging equipment.

Skills & Experience

• Minimum 5 years' experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
• Senior Trade Qualification or National Diploma/Degree in Mechatronics, Fitting, Maintenance or a related discipline.
• Strong mechanical maintenance and fault-finding experience.
• Experience with high-speed production or packaging equipment.
• Knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLCs and industrial communication protocols including Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet and Profibus.
• Understanding of ATEX-zoned areas and equipment.
• Familiarity with SCADA systems.
• Good computer literacy, including Microsoft Office.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out preventative and reactive mechanical maintenance.
• Diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently to minimise downtime.
• Carry out root-cause analysis and implement solutions to prevent recurring issues.
• Maintain and repair equipment incorporating pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Fabricate mechanical components, replace seals and carry out pump alignment as required.
• Monitor equipment availability and support maximum plant uptime.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and update the CMMS.
• Monitor spare parts and ensure required materials are available.
• Identify and support continuous improvement projects.
• Work closely with the production team, providing technical support and participating in training and cross-skilling.
• Ensure all work is carried out in line with health, safety and quality standards.
