Site Engineer

Location: Kilkenny / South East
Salary: €55,000 - €65,000 DOE + Company Vehicle & Fuel Card

Optimize Recruitment is working with a highly respected main contractor based in the South East to recruit a Site Engineer for projects in southeast region.

Working closely with an experienced Site Manager, this role will focus primarily on setting out and ensuring the accurate delivery of works on site. Key responsibilities include: 

• Carry out setting out for foundations, drainage, services, concrete works, and structural elements
• Interpret drawings and specifications and communicate requirements to site teams
• Monitor construction progress and coordinate with subcontractors
• Operate GPS and robotic total station equipment
• Maintain accurate site records and assist with BCAR documentation
• Conduct quality inspections and materials testing
• Liaise with utility providers and relevant stakeholders when required
• Support the implementation of health and safety procedures on site
• Report progress and technical issues to the Site Manager
• Build strong working relationships with project teams and subcontractors

Requirements include: 

• Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline
• 3-5 years' experience as a Site Engineer, preferably with a main contractor
• Strong setting out experience using GPS and Total Station equipment
• Knowledge of concrete, drainage, utility connections, and reinforced concrete structures
• Good understanding of Health & Safety regulations and site compliance requirements
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and construction-related software
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Irish or UK construction experience highly desirable
