About the Role

Our client, a leading Tier 1 Main Contractor, is seeking an experienced General Foreman with a strong finishes background to join a major commercial and large-scale residential apartment development in Cork.

This is an excellent opportunity for a driven construction professional who has extensive experience managing the finishes phase of high-value projects and can ensure exceptional quality standards, programme delivery, and site safety.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Site Manager, subcontractors, and wider project team to deliver a high-quality project to completion.

Key responsibilities will include: 

• Responsible for overseeing all general concrete work activities onsite.
• Ensure all works are completed to the highest quality standards and in line with project specifications.
• Supervise subcontractors and direct labour, ensuring productivity, quality, and programme targets are achieved.
• Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to the Site Manager.
• Identify and resolve site issues proactively to minimise delays.
• Maintain excellent housekeeping and site presentation standards.
• Work closely with the Health & Safety team to ensure full compliance with all regulations and company policies.
• Carry out inspections and quality checks to ensure works meet client expectations and contractual requirements.
• Coordinate trades and ensure works are delivered in accordance with the construction programme.

The successful foreman will have the following: 

• Proven experience as a Foreman or General Foreman on commercial or large-scale apartment developments. House-building experience alone will not be considered.
• Strong finishes experience is essential.
• Experience working with a Main Contractor on medium to large-scale construction projects.
• Excellent understanding of quality control and finishing standards.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Ability to coordinate multiple subcontractors and trades simultaneously.
• Strong communication and organisational abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering projects to a high standard.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage programme expectations effectively.
