Optimize Recruitment is partnering with a well-established and highly respected Irish civil engineering and infrastructure contractor to recruit an experienced Project Manager for a significant Public Realm project in Tralee. Overview

Reporting to the Contracts Manager, the Project Manager will take full responsibility for the successful delivery of the project, ensuring works are completed safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities include: 

• Promote and maintain the highest standards of Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental (HSQE) performance across the project.
• Manage and coordinate all site activities to achieve programme milestones and contractual obligations.
• Oversee the commercial and operational performance of the project on a day-to-day basis.
• Lead and support a multidisciplinary team including engineering, planning, commercial and HSQE personnel.
• Ensure project delivery aligns with programme requirements and budget targets.
• Continue to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and project partners.
• Manage direct labour, plant, materials and other project resources effectively.
• Coordinate and manage subcontractors to ensure safe and efficient delivery of works.
• Identify and advise on commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage project change control processes and secure agreement on variations where required.
• Oversee the completion of as-built records, drawings and project handover documentation.
• Agree project objectives, deliverables and performance targets with key stakeholders.
• Mentor and support engineers and wider project team members.
• Lead pre-start and site coordination meetings.
• Ensure full compliance with company policies, procedures and industry regulations.
• Maintain professional standards on site, supporting strong long-term client relationships.
• Drive site productivity, efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives.

The successful individual will have the following: 

• Proven experience managing civil engineering, infrastructure, utilities or public realm projects.
• Strong leadership and people management capabilities.
• Excellent commercial awareness and contract administration skills.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver projects safely, on time and within budget.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.
• Relevant engineering or construction qualification preferred.
