Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Senior Ecologist to join their expanding Environment team. This role offers a flexible office location within Ireland and a hybrid working model.

As a Senior Ecologist, you will work alongside engineers, environmental scientists, planners, and project managers, providing ecological expertise across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure and development projects.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing and coordinating ecological inputs across a range of environmental and infrastructure projects.
• Delivering high-quality technical reports and ecological assessments.
• Supporting Project Managers and senior team members in the successful delivery of projects.
• Undertaking and overseeing ecological field surveys.
• Collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams while also managing independent workloads.
• Engaging with clients, regulators, and other project stakeholders as required.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
• Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., CIEEM or equivalent) is desirable.
• Several years of post-graduate experience within an environmental consultancy setting.
• Proven experience preparing ecological reports to industry best-practice standards, including:
  • Appropriate Assessments (AA)
  • Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIA)
  • Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (PEA)
  • Biodiversity chapters for Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIAR)
• Strong ecological survey and fieldwork experience.
• Expertise in either terrestrial or freshwater ecology, with additional experience in habitats/botany, ornithology, bats, or terrestrial mammals viewed as advantageous.
• Experience using GIS platforms such as QGIS, ArcGIS, or MapInfo would be beneficial.
• Strong communication, organisational, analytical, and report-writing skills.
• A full clean driver's licence.
