Warehouse & Logistics Operations Manager

Location: County Tipperary
Salary - €78,000 - €85,000 + Company Pension
Monday - Friday / Senior Leadership Role 

Optimize Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with our client, a leading Irish FMCG manufacturing business, to recruit an experienced Warehouse & Logistics Operations Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated operations leader with proven experience in people management, leading teams of up to 40 employees, and a strong capability for developing systems and improving operational processes. The successful candidate will take ownership of warehouse and logistics operations, driving operational efficiency, continuous improvement and service excellence while leading and developing high-performing teams within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The Successful Candidate Will Have:

• Previous leadership experience within warehousing, logistics, manufacturing or FMCG operations.
• A third-level qualification in Supply Chain, Business, Operations Management or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• A proven track record of leading and developing teams in a busy operational environment.
• Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance service, cost and operational performance.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments.
• Experience managing workforce planning and resources to meet changing business demands.
• A continuous improvement mindset, with exposure to Lean principles, process optimisation or operational excellence initiatives.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• A solid understanding of Health & Safety requirements within an operational environment.
• Experience within FMCG or manufacturing is highly desirable. Knowledge of food quality systems would be an advantage but is not essential.

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Lead the day-to-day warehouse and logistics operations, ensuring safe, efficient and effective movement and storage of finished goods.
• Manage and support warehouse teams, providing coaching, performance management and ongoing development to maximise team capability.
• Oversee inventory control, warehouse planning and logistics activities to ensure customer requirements and production schedules are consistently achieved.
• Develop workforce plans that align staffing levels with operational demand while maintaining productivity targets.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, reduce waste and improve overall performance.
• Champion operational excellence through the application of Lean methodologies and best practice processes.
• Build strong working relationships with senior leadership and cross-functional departments to support wider business objectives.
• Monitor key performance indicators and implement improvement plans to achieve service, cost and productivity goals.
• Ensure warehouse operations comply with all relevant Health & Safety legislation, company policies and industry standards.
• Support and promote a culture focused on quality, compliance and continuous improvement throughout the operation.
• Lead and contribute to operational change and transformation projects designed to improve warehouse and logistics performance.
• Undertake occasional travel as required to support operational and business needs.
