About the Role
Optimize Recruitment, working closely with our client, are seeking an Electrical Estimator to join a growing and well-established electrical contractor based in Kilkenny City. This role will sit within a strong commercial and delivery team, working alongside experienced Estimators, Contracts Managers, and senior leadership.

The position will involve responsibility for electrical estimates while also managing full commercial and contractual elements of live projects. Project values range from smaller works circa €5k through to larger projects approaching €5 million, offering excellent exposure across varied sectors and scales.

Projects span healthcare, educational, medical centres, residential, and commercial works across the Southeast, Midlands, Dublin, and Cork. The role is primarily office-based and offers strong long-term career development, internal training, and progression opportunities as the business continues to expand.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed electrical estimates across varied project sizes
• Manage commercial elements from tender through project completion
• Review drawings, specifications, and scope documentation accurately
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors for competitive pricing
• Track tenders, variations, and associated contractual documentation
• Support cost planning, forecasting, and project financial reporting
• Maintain accurate records of estimates, pricing, and variations
• Assist delivery teams with commercial and contractual queries

Requirements

• Minimum two years estimating experience within Irish electrical market
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, materials, and specifications
• Ability to interpret drawings, schedules, and technical documentation
• Experience managing variations and contract administration processes
• High level of numerical accuracy and commercial awareness
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Estimating software experience beneficial but not essential
