Garden Sales Assistant – Co. Kilkenny / South Tipperary

Our client, a leading home, garden, DIY & Agri business, is seeking to hire a Garden Sales Assistant in Co. Kilkenny on a full-time permanent basis. This is a great opportunity for someone with a love of plants and gardening, who would like to gain experience in a busy retail environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Operations Manager and team to support the day-to-day running of the garden centre.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide friendly and helpful customer service.
• Assist with plant care, watering, and general upkeep.
• Help with merchandising, displays, and maintaining a tidy store environment.
• Ensure plants and products are clearly priced and presented well.
• Support with basic stock handling such as unpacking deliveries and restocking shelves.
• Maintain health and safety standards in the workplace.

Requirements

• Interest in horticulture, gardening, or retail and a love of plants essential.
• Horticultural (or similar) qualification is advantageous, but not essential.
• Previous experience working with plants is required.
• Willingness to learn and take direction from senior staff.
• Knowledge of Computers ideally, as the position will involve stock ordering and tills (IT systems).
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
• Ability to work as part of a team.

Salary is dependent on experience.

This opportunity is a full-time position and will involve Saturday work.
