Site Engineer (Setting Out)
Location: Ideal base in Kildare – projects across Carlow and South / South-West Dublin
Salary: €50,000 – €65,000 DOE
Role Type: Permanent – Full-Time

Optimize Recruitment, working closely with our client, are seeking a Site Engineer to join a strong and well-established building contractor.

About the Role
This position is best suited to someone living within commuting distance of Kildare, as current and upcoming works are located in Carlow and South / South-West Dublin. Projects include an active School build, a Medical Centre, and further works commencing shortly on a Pharmaceutical facility. The company offers excellent longer-term career development, including potential progression into Project Management.

Responsibilities
• Carry out accurate setting out using Total Stations and GPS equipment
• Monitor works to ensure compliance with drawings and specification
• Maintain detailed records of site activities and quality checks
• Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure smooth delivery of works
• Assist in planning workflows, sequencing, and resolving site queries
• Work closely with the Site Manager and Project Manager on programme
• Provide technical support during construction stages
• Promote strong site safety standards at all times

Requirements
• Degree in Civil Engineering or similar discipline
• 2+ years’ experience in a Site Engineer role or similar
• Strong setting out skills with Total Stations and GPS required
• Knowledge of quality processes and construction documentation
• Excellent communication with subcontractors and design teams
• Strong time management and problem-solving abilities
• Irish or UK experience highly advantageous
