Health and Safety Advisor (PSDP) – EHS
Location: Galway
Monday – Friday / Permanent Full Time Position
Salary: €40,000 - €50,000
Optimize Recruitment is proud to partner with a respected consultancy in the search for a motivated Health & Safety Advisor (PSDP). This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic firm delivering projects across sectors such as infrastructure, renewable energy, and commercial construction throughout Ireland.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in conducting health & safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations across client sites and internal operations, ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Support the delivery of Occupational Health & Safety advisory services to clients, helping implement practical solutions and guidance.
- Review contractor Risk Assessments and Method Statements, providing recommendations in line with legal and best-practice standards.
- Contribute to construction safety consultancy duties, supporting PSDP responsibilities on development projects.
- Assist in the delivery of H&S training and awareness programs for staff and clients.
- Support the development and maintenance of internal and external safety management systems.
- Promote a proactive safety culture within the organization and across client sites.
Requirements:
- Third-level qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or related discipline.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a health & safety role, preferably in consultancy or a multi-sector environment.
- Basic experience with PSDP responsibilities and an understanding of relevant legislation and industry standards.
- Ability to assist in audits, inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations under guidance.
- Understanding of H&S regulatory frameworks, construction safety practices, and continuous improvement processes.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues.
Desirable Qualifications (advantageous but not essential):
- PSDP Training Course completed.
- IOSH Managing Safely Certification.
- QQI Level 6 Manual Handling Instructor qualification.
- SOLAS Accredited Safe Pass Trainer certification.
- Familiarity with ISO 45001 systems.
