Project Planner - Construction Contractor - Full Time Perm Role
Location: Carlow (office based ideally, with regular site visits to Dublin)
Salary: €70,000–€80,000 DOE
Hours: Full-time, permanent
Package: pension, and additional benefits to be discussed at interview.

About the Role
Optimize Recruitment, working closely with our client, are seeking a Planner to support a main contractor delivering several active projects across Dublin. This position will focus on programme development and progress mana gement for a range of live schemes, including a significant pharmaceutical project and additional ongoing developments.

The role is based primarily in the Carlow office, with routine travel to Dublin sites for progress checks, coordination meetings, and project updates.

The successful candidate will support project teams with scheduling, reporting, forecasting, and ensuring clarity around timelines and critical project milestones.

Responsibilities
Prepare, develop, and maintain project programmes for live works
Track progress on-site and update schedules accordingly
Provide guidance on sequencing, resourcing, and critical path items
Assist project teams with reporting, forecasting, and delay analysis
Visit project sites to gather accurate programme information
Support design and construction teams with programme-related queries
Produce clear planning reports for senior management
Liaise with subcontractors and stakeholders to verify programme inputs
Highlight potential risks and advise on corrective programme actions
Contribute to tender and preconstruction programme preparation when required

Requirements
Degree in construction, engineering, project management, or related field
3–5+ years’ experience in planning within the construction industry
Strong understanding of build sequences and technical drawings
Proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project is essential
Excellent communication and analytical skills
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
Irish or UK experience is highly advantageous
