About the Role

Optimize Recruitment, working closely with our client, are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established construction business with a strong pipeline of building and civil projects. This role provides an excellent opportunity for an experienced QS to lead commercial activities across multiple sites, support project delivery teams, and contribute to the ongoing development of commercial processes as the company continues to grow.

The successful candidate will play a key part in contract administration, commercial reporting, and bolstering the commercial team as a whole.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial management duties across a range of active projects
• Oversee contract administration and ensure obligations are fully delivered
• Assess entitlements, variations, and commercial positions professionally
• Provide clear commercial guidance to project and site teams
• Mentor junior QSs and support their professional development
• Prepare detailed cost reports, forecasts, and commercial updates
• Manage client and subcontractor agreements with a strong commercial focus
• Contribute to the improvement of commercial procedures and documentation

Requirements

• Third-level qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics
• 8+ years’ experience with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 main contractor
• Strong understanding of contract management and commercial reporting
• Confident assessing entitlements, preparing documentation, and reviewing clauses
• Experience guiding junior QSs within a commercial team
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Full Irish driving licence
• Irish or UK experience Required
