Bid Writer – Construction Projects
Location: New Ross, Co. Wexford
Salary: Competitive (DOE)

About the Role

Optimize Recruitment, working closely with our client, are seeking an experienced Bid Writer to prepare high-quality, technically detailed tender submissions for construction and engineering projects. This role requires a strong ability to clearly explain how the contractor intends to deliver the project, what methodologies will be used, why this approach provides added value, and how risks will be managed throughout delivery.

You will work closely with project, commercial, and engineering teams to gather technical insights and convert them into structured, persuasive proposals that align with evaluation criteria. Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed tender responses outlining project methodology and delivery strategy
  • Translate technical input into clear, compelling narratives tailored to client requirements
  • Prepare method statements, sequencing descriptions, programme explanations, and value-add proposals
  • Review tender documentation to identify submission requirements and scoring criteria
  • Work closely with engineering, project, and commercial teams to gather accurate information
  • Present the contractor’s approach, innovations, and risk management clearly and convincingly
  • Ensure all bids meet compliance, layout, and quality standards
  • Maintain and update a library of case studies, methodologies, and template content

Requirements

  • Third-level qualification in English, Construction, Engineering, Business, Communications, or similar
  • 3+ years’ experience in bid writing, technical writing, tender preparation, or proposals
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies and project sequencing
  • Excellent written communication skills with a focus on clarity and persuasion
  • Comfortable working with cross-functional teams to gather technical input
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to work to multiple deadlines
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and document formatting tools
  • Irish or UK experience is highly advantageous
