Senior Health and Safety Officer
Location: Dublin
Salary - €70,000 - €85,000

Optimize is delighted to partner with our client in search of a Senior Health & Safety Advisor for a high-profile projects in Dublin. Candidates with strong experience in build projects, or civils projects including metros, groundworks, and infrastructure, are highly encouraged to apply. A minimum of 6 years’ experience in health and safety within the Irish or UK construction sector is essential. 

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Health & Safety professional to lead and drive best-practice safety standards across a major Dublin-based construction project. You will be responsible for promoting a culture of safety, ensuring compliance, and providing guidance to the project team.

Duties

• Lead the implementation and oversight of the project’s Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) management framework.
• Champion a proactive health and safety culture across all levels of the project, including management, contractors, and site operatives.
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and reporting to ensure full compliance with HSE regulations and company standards.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to embed safety into all stages of the project lifecycle.
• Coach and mentor site personnel on best-practice safety procedures and continuous improvement initiatives.

Candidate Profile 

• NEBOSH Diploma, or equivalent recognized health and safety qualification.
• Minimum 6 years’ hands-on experience in health and safety roles within the Irish or UK construction sector.
• Strong background in large-scale construction, with experience in civil infrastructure, metro systems, or complex build projects preferred.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks effectively.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable with HSE reporting databases.
• Team-oriented with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
