Construction Manager (Site or Project Manager) – Pharmaceutical & Industrial
Location: Waterford & Southeast (Carlow, Kilkenny, South Tipperary)
Sector: Pharmaceutical, Industrial, Food Production, General Contracting

About the Role
Optimize Recruitment, working closely with our client, are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee the delivery of pharmaceutical and industrial projects across Waterford and the Southeast region.

This is a key position within a long-established main contractor with a strong local reputation and an impressive record of repeat business with some of Ireland’s largest companies. The role offers long-term stability, strong career progression, and the opportunity to lead high-spec builds within a supportive and professional environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of pharma and industrial projects
  • Plan works, sequence activities, and drive programme performance
  • Manage subcontractors, direct labour, and site supervision effectively
  • Control budgets, track costs, and maintain accurate reporting
  • Ensure rigorous compliance with H&S, quality, and regulations
  • Coordinate design information, resolve buildability and site issues
  • Build strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders
  • Identify risks, implement mitigations, and uphold company standards

Requirements

  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, PM, Trade or related
  • 6+ years managing sites or projects in pharma/industrial/food sectors; Irish/UK experience needed
  • Proven leadership, team coordination, and stakeholder communication
  • Strong grasp of construction methods, regulations, and contracts
  • Competent with programming, reporting, and risk management practices
  • Full driving licence and flexibility to travel within the Southeast
