Quantity Surveyor – Telecoms & Civil Infrastructure
Location: North Kildare – Sites in Kildare & Dublin
Hours: Monday to Friday
Role Type: Full-Time Permanent

About the Role
Optimize Recruitment, working closely with our client, are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join a leading telecoms and infrastructure contractor with long-term frameworks across Ireland.

This role sits within their Power & Infrastructure division, supporting commercial delivery on projects involving telecoms installations, ESB-related works, fibre networks, and associated civil works such as ducting, cabling and network adjustments.

Based primarily in the Kildare office, you will support a busy commercial team and collaborate closely with Engineering, Project Management, and Senior Management. The company maintains a strong reputation for progression, professional development, and a supportive team culture.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and manage project cashflow projections and reporting
  • Track live project costs and align with approved budget forecasts
  • Support contract administration using applicable contract forms
  • Manage procurement processes and monitor supply chain performance
  • Compile commercial reports and provide updates to senior team members
  • Prepare payment applications and support negotiation through to final account
  • Agree BoQs, variations, and valuations with client representatives
  • Provide commercial support and guidance to project teams across active works
  • Maintain accurate project records and documentation to audit standard
  • Contribute to cost control processes across multiple concurrent workstreams

Requirements

  • Third-level qualification in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
  • 1–3 years’ experience in a commercial role within construction or utilities
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with recognised contract forms beneficial (e.g., FIDIC)
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Strong ability to take ownership of tasks and manage deadlines
  • Capability to work well in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Willingness to travel to project sites when required
  • Irish/UK experience is highly advantageous
