Site Engineer – Water & Civil Infrastructure
Location: Cork & Munster Region
Days: Monday to Friday
Salary: €40,000 - €55,000 (or higher)
Role Type: Full Time Permanent

Our client is delivering a long-term civil and water infrastructure framework across Cork County and the wider Munster region. The role offers a strong mix of engineering delivery, project coordination, and documentation, with a typical 60–40 office-to-site balance depending on project stage. You will work closely with Project Managers, subcontractors, and local authorities, supporting the successful delivery of water and civil works.

This position suits an ambitious engineer seeking hands-on experience, progression within the Irish civil engineering sector, and the opportunity to work alongside experienced project teams.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations across assigned works and ensure safe practice
  • Coordinate subcontractors and track progress against programme milestones
  • Carry out site setting out and confirm levels using design documentation
  • Support planning of labour, plant and materials to meet productivity needs
  • Maintain site records, diaries, reports and essential documentation
  • Liaise with Project Managers on sequencing, access and project constraints
  • Lead toolbox talks and contribute to ongoing HSQE delivery onsite
  • Review plant condition and monitor preventative maintenance schedules
  • Assist with verifying utilities, surveying tasks and updating drawings
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders across project teams

Requirements

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related discipline
  • 3+ years’ relevant experience within construction environments
  • Strong setting out skills – experience with Total Stations & GPS highly desirable (Irish/UK experience advantageous)
  • Confident interpreting drawings and competent with AutoCAD
  • Strong communication skills with a collaborative and proactive approach
  • Good IT capability including MS Office and general file management
  • Full, clean driving licence and flexibility to travel as required
