Intermediate Quantity Surveyor - Limerick City 
Location: Limerick City
Work Mode: Hybrid with site visits
Salary: €50,000 – €70,000+ DOE
Sector: Pharmaceutical / Controlled Environments

About the Role
Optimize Recruitment, working closely with our client, are seeking an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join a high-performing commercial team delivering specialist controlled-environment projects in Limerick City. Quantity Surveyor – office and site based with mobile working options to be discussed. You’ll ensure rigorous cost management, timely reporting, and commercially sound decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Produce valuations, certify payments, and maintain cost trackers
• Manage procurement cycles and negotiate subcontractor packages
• Identify, price, and agree variations and change controls
• Support tendering, BOQs, take-offs, and pricing reviews
• Monitor budgets, forecasts, and project cash positions
• Coordinate with delivery teams on programme and scope updates
• Ensure contractual compliance and robust record keeping
• Drive final account agreement and commercial close-out

Requirements

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or closely related field
• 3+ years’ experience in contracting or specialist environments
• Solid knowledge of construction contracts and entitlements
• Strong Excel skills; confident with QS systems and reporting
• Clear communicator with good stakeholder management skills
• Organised, proactive, and detail-driven under deadlines
• Irish/UK construction experience highly advantageous
