Intermediate Quantity Surveyor – Specialist Contractor

Location: Dún Laoghaire, Co. Dublin
Role Type: Full-time, Permanent
Work Mode: Hybrid with site visits
Salary: €50,000 – €70,000+ DOE

About the Role
Optimize Recruitment, working closely with our client, are seeking an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to support commercial delivery on specialist controlled-environment projects in Dún Laoghaire. Quantity Surveyor, office and site based with mobile working options to be discussed. You’ll collaborate with project, design, and procurement teams to ensure robust commercial control from tender through final account.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage valuations, variations, and monthly cost reports
• Implement cost controls across procurement, subcontracts, and materials
• Draft, review, and administer subcontractor packages and orders
• Assess and agree change, claims, and entitlement promptly
• Contribute to tender reviews, BOQs, and pricing exercises
• Track budgets, forecasts, cashflow, and project financial risks
• Liaise with site teams to align programme and commercial objectives
• Support final accounts and close-out documentation professionally

Requirements

• Third-level qualification in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
• 3+ years’ contractor or specialist subcontractor experience preferred
• Strong grasp of contract forms and commercial compliance
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and industry QS tools
• Excellent numeracy, analysis, and concise reporting capability
• Confident communicator; builds positive supplier relationships
• Irish/UK construction experience highly advantageous
