Quality Engineer (QA/QC) – Limerick

Contract: 12-Month Fixed Term (Potential for Extension)
About the Role
Optimize Recruitment, working closely with our client, are seeking a Quality Engineer (QA/QC) to oversee quality management and compliance on a major pharmaceutical project with a specialist contractor in Limerick.
This position will suit a professional with strong experience in construction quality, BCAR compliance, and fit-out or cleanroom installations. The successful candidate will work closely with the Project Manager, Site Team, and Client representatives to ensure all works meet the required standards and specifications.
Responsibilities
- Lead QA/QC activities on site, ensuring compliance with project specifications and client standards.
- Implement and maintain the site quality management system and associated documentation.
- Oversee BCAR processes and coordinate with Assigned Certifiers as required.
- Conduct inspections, audits, and verification of installation works and materials.
- Review and approve ITPs, test results, and material certificates.
- Liaise with subcontractors to ensure adherence to company and client quality requirements.
- Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs) and corrective/preventive action processes.
- Support validation and commissioning teams to ensure handover documentation is accurate and complete.
- Prepare and submit quality reports, checklists, and final turnover packages.
- Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement across all site operations.
Requirements
- Degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- 2+ years’ experience in a QA/QC role within construction, ideally within cleanroom, pharma, or controlled environment projects.
- Proven knowledge of BCAR procedures and documentation.
- Strong understanding of ISO standards and construction quality systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and documentation management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within project teams.
- Strong communication, organisation, and reporting abilities.
- Irish/UK construction experience highly advantageous.
