Location:
Sligo (with flexibility between Sligo & Maynooth)
Salary: €50,000 – €70,000 + Package
Hours: Full-time, Permanent

About the Role

Optimize Recruitment, working closely with our client, are seeking a Project Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team.

This role will involve managing day-to-day commercial duties on a designated project, ensuring all cost, procurement, and contractual matters are effectively controlled.

The successful candidate will work closely with a Senior QS or Contracts Manager, gaining excellent exposure across all project stages.

Responsibilities

  • Manage project measurement, procurement, and cost reporting
  • Prepare interim payments, valuations, and final accounts
  • Maintain and update variation records and cost reports
  • Liaise with project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers as required
  • Assist in the preparation of subcontractor payment certificates
  • Monitor commercial progress and prepare regular cost summaries
  • Support tendering and subcontractor negotiations when required
  • Attend site and client meetings to report on commercial matters

Requirements

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics
  • 2–5 years’ post-graduate experience in a similar role
  • Strong technical knowledge of construction methods and contracts
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office; experience with Cubit or Buildsoft advantageous
  • Highly organised, detail-focused, and able to manage multiple tasks
  • Strong team player with ability to work independently when required
  • Irish/UK experience highly advantageous
