Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Head Office & Nationwide
Salary: €70,000 – €90,000 + Package
Projects: Residential or Pharmaceutical (depending on experience & preference)
Hours: Full-time, Permanent
About the Role
Optimize Recruitment, working closely with our client, are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join an established main contractor with projects nationwide.
The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the commercial delivery of large-scale Residential or Pharmaceutical developments, depending on preference and background.

- Manage all commercial and contractual aspects of assigned projects
- Prepare and monitor interim valuations, cost reports, and final accounts
- Analyse contract documents and monitor variation notifications
- Negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers on pricing and contract terms
- Prepare procurement packages and review quotations for compliance
- Support site teams and attend project meetings as required
- Maintain accurate variation and cost records throughout project delivery
- Prepare internal cost and progress reports for management
- Ensure full compliance with company Quality, Safety, and Environmental systems
- Promote collaborative working across site and office teams
Requirements
- Third-level qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
- 8+ years’ experience in a Senior QS role on major building projects
- Experience across large Residential or Pharmaceutical builds desirable
- Excellent commercial and negotiation skills
- Strong understanding of construction contracts and cost control systems
- Excellent time management, organisation, and IT skills
- Strong communication and reporting ability across project teams
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver within tight deadlines
- Irish/UK experience highly advantageous
