Project Planner – High-End Construction Projects
Candidate can be based in Kilkenny/Southeast/Cork or Dublin
Location: Kilkenny (Hybrid – 2/3 Days per Week) 
Project Location's: Cork & Dublin (Main)
Salary: €55,000 – €70,000 + Package (Vehicle & Fuel incl.)

About the Role
Optimize Recruitment, working closely with our client, are seeking an Intermediate Project Planner to join a well-established design and construction company delivering specialised projects across the pharmaceutical and data centre sectors.

With over two decades of experience in technical project delivery, this growing organisation offers a collaborative environment, strong career development opportunities, and the chance to play a key role in complex, high-value projects across Ireland.

The successful candidate will ideally be based near Kilkenny, where the company office is located, with flexibility to work 2–3 days from home and spend one day in the office and one on site (typically in Cork or Dublin, depending on project requirements).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules to ensure timely delivery
  • Coordinate with project teams, design consultants, and clients to align plans
  • Use Primavera P6 to track progress, update programmes, and forecast outcomes
  • Identify project risks and variances, implementing corrective measures as required
  • Prepare accurate progress and performance reports for management and stakeholders
  • Support cost, resource, and time management within the overall project framework
  • Break down complex project stages into achievable milestones and deliverables
  • Ensure planning documentation aligns with company standards and best practice
  • Participate in project meetings and contribute to strategy development
  • Provide input into continuous improvement within the planning function

Requirements

  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related discipline
  • 3+ years’ experience in project planning within technical construction projects
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 is essential
  • Experience on live pharmaceutical or data centre sites highly advantageous
  • Strong understanding of project scheduling, sequencing, and risk management
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
  • Ideally located in Ireland, though open to strong international candidates who can relocate immediately - candidate must be based in Ireland. 

Salary & Benefits
