Location: Kilkenny (Mainly In-Office Role)

About the Role

Optimize Recruitment, working closely with our client, are seeking an Intermediate to Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading turnkey contractor specialising in the off-site manufacture and delivery of construction projects for high-profile clients across Ireland and Europe.

Reporting to the Surveying Manager, the successful candidate will form part of a well-structured commercial team that includes a Commercial Director, Senior Quantity Surveyor, and Commercial Controls Lead. The position offers strong career progression within an expanding and forward-thinking business operating at the forefront of modular project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and detailed tender submissions and cost estimates
• Source and analyse subcontractor and supplier quotations
• Evaluate tender information for scope clarity, risk, and qualification
• Liaise closely with design, procurement, and project delivery teams
• Assist in maintaining and improving commercial systems and tender processes
• Support the management of cost plans, budgets, and value engineering reviews
• Contribute to continuous improvement in estimating and cost control procedures
• Provide regular commercial updates and reports to senior management

Requirements

• Third-level qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in an estimating or surveying capacity
• Background in contracting or specialist subcontracting highly desirable
• Excellent analytical and numerical abilities
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and commercial software tools
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Irish or UK construction experience highly advantageous
