Site Manager – Wastewater & Utilities Facility (Non-Construction)
Location: Dublin 8
Sector: Utilities / Water Treatment / Facilities Management
Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Hours: 39 hours per week (07:00 – 16:00)

About the Role

Optimize Recruitment, working closely with our client, are seeking a Site Manager to oversee operations at a wastewater and utilities treatment facility in Dublin 8.

This is a permanent position responsible for managing a team of technicians and service providers, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operation of all plant systems on-site.

The role focuses on the management of an existing live facility rather than construction activities, offering the opportunity to lead continuous improvement and technical performance within a key industrial environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the wastewater and utilities plant
  • Supervise a team of technicians and coordinate service providers
  • Troubleshoot and resolve plant or utility system issues through root cause analysis
  • Oversee planned, preventive, and corrective maintenance schedules
  • Ensure compliance with quality, environmental, safety, and GMP standards
  • Review maintenance programmes to achieve optimal system performance and uptime
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reliability
  • Maintain and develop PMs, SOPs, and job plans using CMMS systems
  • Liaise with stores and procurement for spare parts and materials
  • Support and monitor systems including boilers, chillers, HVAC, compressed air, power distribution, WFI generation, and wastewater treatment equipment

Requirements

  • Degree qualified (Level 7/8) in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering
  • Supervisory experience within utilities, water, or process plant environments
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical utility systems
  • Experience with CMMS systems essential
  • Lean / Six Sigma exposure preferred
  • Previous experience in pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or FMCG environments highly desirable
  • Irish / UK experience highly advantageous
