Project Engineer – Consultancy
Location: Greater Dublin / Meath (with further works in Kildare & Kilkenny)
Salary: €55,000 – €70,000 (DOE)

About the Role

Optimize Recruitment, working closely with our client, are seeking a Project Engineer to join a well-established consultancy with a strong pipeline of building projects throughout Leinster.

The successful candidate will initially oversee a large leisure development in the Greater Dublin/Meath area, with further projects planned across Kildare and Kilkenny.

This role will primarily be site-based, focusing on design coordination, contractor supervision, and ensuring quality delivery on behalf of the client. The position offers long-term career progression within a growing consultancy based in Grangecastle.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day site operations, ensuring compliance with design and quality standards
• Liaise between the client, design teams, and main contractor to ensure smooth project delivery
• Monitor construction progress, manage technical queries, and report on project milestones
• Review and coordinate design documentation, ensuring updates are implemented effectively
• Prepare and issue project reports, meeting minutes, and progress updates
• Support the Project Manager with cost tracking, programme updates, and stakeholder communication
• Conduct regular site inspections and ensure adherence to health & safety procedures
• Assist with tender reviews and contractor performance assessment
• Participate in design meetings and provide technical input on buildability and sequencing

Requirements

• Degree in Construction, Civil Engineering, Project Management, or a related field
• 3–5 years’ experience as a Project Engineer or Site Engineer (consultancy or contractor background)
• Strong understanding of building project delivery and design coordination processes
• Excellent communication and organisational skills with attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and MS Project (or similar)
• Full Irish driver’s licence required
• Irish or UK consultancy experience highly advantageous
