Project Manager – Metering & Pressure Management

Location: Kilkenny, Co. Kilkenny
Sector: Civil Engineering / Water Infrastructure

About the Role

Optimize Recruitment, working closely with our client, are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join the Metering & Pressure Management Team within a leading Irish civil engineering company.

This role involves overseeing the delivery of multiple water infrastructure projects across the Southeast and Midlands region, ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. You will manage works from planning through to completion, while maintaining strong client relationships and leading a high-performing team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage multiple water infrastructure projects across urban and rural areas
  • Oversee project delivery from concept to completion with strong commercial focus
  • Build and maintain effective client and stakeholder relationships
  • Monitor project progress and provide regular internal and client reporting
  • Review constructability and ensure design solutions are practical and efficient
  • Coordinate internal teams, subcontractors, and third-party providers
  • Resolve issues related to performance, scope, cost, and scheduling
  • Prepare detailed project plans and resource schedules to meet programme requirements

Requirements

  • Degree or technical qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
  • Proven experience managing projects in water networks or utilities
  • Strong understanding of Irish or UK water standards (potable and foul)
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Client-focused with strong problem-solving and decision-making ability
  • Full clean Irish driver’s licence required
  • Irish/UK experience highly advantageous
